Garen Gulludjian is a translator and IELTS Instructor with 5 years of experience in teaching English to K-12 and university students.
How did you get into tutoring?
I have always been extremely good at both English and French at school and always found myself helping my classmates in these subjects, and sometimes even assisting the teachers in correcting tests. Then I realized that I really enjoyed what I was doing and began tutoring and correcting English and French assignments professionally at the age of 17, and later on I decided to specialize in language proficiency tests such as the IELTS and TCF since I earned very high grades in both (and they were REALLY in demand!).
What do you do after you’ve finished tutoring for the day?
You can find me either at a coffee shop with all my friends (kind of like the Friends series one) or at a restaurant or bar. Sometimes, I would be watching or playing football, although this is rarely occurring lately.
What is your teaching style?
I always opt for being fun and friendly and creating a bond with my students, especially since I mostly teach people aged 15+ who do not lack discipline during class anymore and will not turn a class into a circus.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
As I mentioned above, making my classes fun not only benefits the students but also me, as I always enjoy the interaction, especially when I am able to make students fully grasp an entire lesson without breaking a sweat.
